Specialist Subjects: 11+, English, Special Educational Needs
Hello! I’m Lucy and I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2017. My style of teaching is child-centred, creative and holistic – always aiming to develop the ‘whole’ child. Social and emotional development is naturally embedded throughout my teaching and learning. By nature, I am understanding and nurturing and always prioritise building good relationships with my pupils. I follow children’s needs and interests to make the learning engaging, fun and child specific. I enjoy using nature, stories and hands-on activities to inspire a sense of awe and wonder, bring the learning to life and create memorable experiences.
During my time at university, I specialised in English and special educational needs. I have experience of supporting learners with various additional and special educational needs including speech and language, ASD, SEMH and EAL. I have taught across early years and primary ages and have experience of teaching Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation. This means that I have a good understanding of where primary education begins, ends and the steppingstones in-between. Regardless of age, I always aim to make learning engaging, imaginative and irresistible!
